Towers of Vanity.

by

"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it:" Psalms 127:1(a)

The scriptures instruct us: "And having food and raiment let us be therewith content." 1 Timothy 6:8 "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." Hebrews 13:5, 6

It is in "covetousness," i.e., in your carnal desires, i.e., your "self interests" of the 'moment' that resentment and hate, i.e., dissatisfaction with restraint, i.e., rebellion against the Father and His authority resides. It is here, in your desires and dissatisfactions, that those who seduce, deceive, and manipulate for a living, i.e., facilitator's of 'change,' i.e., "group psychotherapist's" gain control over you, using you for their own pleasure and gain. "And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you." 2 Peter 2:3—turn you into "human resource" to be used for their own pleasure and gain—turning the children against their parent's authority and the "church" against God's.

While the "church" might use polls, surveys, feasibility studies, i.e., the opinions of men and consensus meetings to "grow" itself, it does so in vain, i.e., for its own pleasure and gain, coveting the praises of men, even doing so (build towers of vanity) in the name of the Lord. "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." 127:1 "For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." Galatians 1:10

"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not ... in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:22, 23 "Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God." Luke 16:15 "Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished." Proverbs 16:5

If you do not reprove, correct, rebuke unrighteousness—which is done in the name of "tolerance," in order to "grow" the "church"—unrighteousness becomes the law of the "church," resulting in men glorifying themselves, worshiping the works of their own hands. "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." Isaiah 42:8

"And for this cause [because men love themselves and the works of their hands, i.e., pleasure, including the pleasure which comes with the praises of men] God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie [that by doing "good works" for God, "feeling good" about it, they become "good"]: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth [that their heart is deceitful and wicked, i.e., that their only hope is in the Father and in His Son, Jesus Christ alone, and not in themselves or in man], but had pleasure in unrighteousness [in themselves]." 2 Thessalonians 2:11, 12

" If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 1:3

"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." Hebrews 10:23-27

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
